Just wondering what the purpose is for the gate valves in the lift circuit of the hydraulic system on my 600 planter frame. The former owner said he would open them every so often when one frame would get out of sync, cycle the hydraulic lift circuit a few time till the frames evened up, close them again and run it with them closed. Is this the proper procedure? Any reason to not run it with them open all the time? Any ideas? Thanks, Darrel

The owner told you right. If I remenber correctly, it will be the right side of the planter thats wants to drift down. hope this helps. |

The former owner is right. Under normal conditions the left cylinder forces the right one up causing it too lift evenly. If you leave them open the lighter side will raise first. The second valve is the transport and storage valve.
