Should be bringing home a D 14 this week and i need a 3 point conversion for it. If any one is using a three point conversion where did you get it from and how is it working? Looking to order one in the next couple days.
Thanks
Brian

2 different styles,1 is best if you plan on using both Snap Coupler and 3 pt. equipt.(easy to take 3pt adaptor on and off).2nd style is more permanently mounted and not so easy to switch back and forth. Also some models incorporate traction booster and some don't.Best one depends on what you want to do with it.

I have one of the Allis made snap coupler adaptors, and it works well. I have no idea how common they are, but I bought mine at an auction for $10.00, and it collected dust for ten years before i had a tractor with the snap coupler to use it on.

I have this unit. It is extra heavy duty. Almost, overkill for the 14. It fits the 14,15,and 17. Very nice, it has an excellent stabilizer setup, something you will appreciate! The links have CAT 1/2 balls in them, for more fleibility, but you will probably never use the 2 on the 14!

Thanks guys. I will probably using only 3 point equipment as its easier to find. The unit at Saginaw Tractors is the one I was really looking at. Your right it does look pretty beefy. I was just curious as to what others were using. OK tractors has one for like $325. Dumb question but is Saginaw Tractor up in Saginaw actually? I will probably go with this set up.

On another note, I mostly plan on using this with a box grader and disc to work up the ground in my riding arena. And aslo brush hog and back blade.

I found out there are two styles....one allows for PTO use, the other doesn't. Be sure to get the PTO use style since you'll have a bushhog.
Some allow or use the drawbar for mounting, but I've never used either of the drawbars for my D-14s(dust collectors, 8 years)
Mine's a real A-C unit, though I'm having the top link bracket made up as I type.
Also looking into getting'antisway' stuff made as I'll be using a 5' rototiller(once the snow STOPS arrrghhhhh..)

I have one of the snapcoupler wishbones from tonys tractors. Its got cat 2 balls and works real well. Seams to be very strong. you need to rember to take the spreader tube off when you put the snow blower on though or ya bend the PTO when the bank lifts above the upper limit. I just use the X chain sway control seames to work well. I've also use a post hole digger on it with no problems. When I put the finish mower on I take the top link off. the mower follows the ground better without it. I do install the top link to load on the trailer then take off after I unload.

Does the Saginaw tractor 3 point allow you to used the PTO?
As for the factor AC 3 point adapter doesnt that go in the drawbar coupler? I would like to have a 3 point hitch and also a draw bar for pulling wagons.

The Saginaw unit does not allow use of the traction boost system. One of the best features of many AC tractors. I have no idea why they would want to build something like that. Cross Mfg makes a conversion that bolts right to the drawbar and allows the traction boost system to function properly. The Saginaw unit does not pull from a point where Allis intended things to be pulled from. It's like they tried to reinvent the wheel and thought that an eight sided wheel was better than a round one.

Does any one have a picture of the Cross MFG 3 point hitch on their tractor? How does this one use the traction boost better than the Saginaw one? I would still like the use of a draw bar, a friend of mine told me there is a bar you can put in the 3 point and still pull wagons. Only one use these? Thanks for all your info everyone

My Saginaw allows use of the PTO, and I don't recall one that didn't. I visited their place, and for the D series, I believe they only have one model.
CB is relatively local to Saginaw so he can save quite i bit on freight by picking it up himself.
Seems like a no brainer, but then, it ain't my money!
