    Posted: 30 Mar 2011 at 5:34pm
I just bought a WD with a wide front that runs for $500.  It needed exhaust gaskets and had a little water leak between the head and block.  When I tore it apart, the inside of the engine appears to be in great shape, but I have some questions.  Doesn't the WD engine have flat top pistons?  This one has concave pistons.  It also has a 4 1/8 bore.  Is that wierd to have the concave pistons and 4 1/8 bore?  The rear tires are decent and the pa rims are next to perfect, so I felt I got a good deal.  Only had to haul it about 200 or so miles.  Not bad for this part of the country.   Bought it about 50 miles west of Co Sprgs, CO.   Thank you, Phil (WY)

Why you little rat! :)  I didn't know about that tractor, where was it advertised?  Anyway, I am glad for you, the WD was more than likely overhauled with a WD-45 kit.

Check the stroke to see if it has 4 inch or 4.5 inch stroke. It is also possible that the "power crater" pistons have a WD spec for pin height.

What a weasel! hell of a price though, you pretty much bought 1 and 1/2 rims and got the rest free, and a bigger piston kit to boot! Great find!

How bad or how fast do you need one?  I am planning a trip to an Allis boneyard in July.  I get up to the Fort  Collins area somewhat often, even up to Casper at least twice a year.  I could probably find one there.
