Help Skip! On my 19 the lift remotes take about a minute to lift when asked to do so...that is if they will lift at all. My rear lift arms are up and will not go down. Should I start with taking assembly off tractor or just splitting it in place? She is up next on the list! lol Dana

I have been having the same problem with our D19 Ours also once in awhile will just stall out and do nothing but you can hear the pump still pumping. I am thinking it is all in the valve stack.

The lift arms may be stuck up, sometimes it take more weight that a guy would think to bring them down, like maybe around 300 lbs.  I can stand on mine to lower and Im around 240 lbs.  Attach a come a long around the arms and the drawbar and winch them down.  There can be resistance in the cylinders, especially if they dont get used much.    the slow hydralics sound more like low flow than leakage thru the valve.  Not much leakage can go thru the valve unless the relief is set way to low.   Still sounds like low pump flow to me.    The pump is under the belly of the tractor behind the clutch housing, can get it out without to much trouble.  It may need new orings and seals, it may just be full of sludge from a previous life and it may have a pumping roller or two worn out.   Dont be afraid to tear it  apart, just lay the parts out in the order you remove them,  a parts book is helpfull to.      Good luck guys!!!!!!

Ok...I split the 3 spool control stack and left the bottom half on the tractor. I would imagine I can test the engine driven pump now that I canhook a gauge on the pump outlet line. I do have a service manual so here we go!

Hey y'all I just reread the D19 hydraulic section of the Service Manual and it says I can check pressures from pump and relief valve pressures from the back of the assembly.......oops....so I recon I have to put this back together, remount and start by taking pressure readings. Oh well it's only a couple hours wasted so far. Should I get new o rings before putting back together? Sometimes I feel like I should just stay away from these unknown, unfamiliar jobs but really there are no old timers around here anymore that knew how to fix these problems so I think I will have to become one of them lol. bear with me please! Advice appreciated!

OK the protrusion towards the top center of pic is a valve in under the TB valve assembly. The ball does not sit tight in the seat which is visible. Of course I took it apart and put it back together. But it doesn't seem correct not seating but then again maybe when oil pressure is applied it does seat. Anyways all valves for the remotes slide nicely and the detents work well. I'm thinking tomorrow putting it back on the tractor, hooking it up and pressure testing everything per service manual.

Dana, the ball is supposed to sit toward the top of the housing, you have it in backward.  The ball seats against the copper washer under the the seat, then the spring, then the housing screws down holding it all together.    In the service manual its call a "ball check", and its not real clear how it works.   A parts breakdown will help, you can go on AGCOs web site and look at a D19 parts book.  Unless the orings are real hard your probably ok reusing them, but if I had new one on hand Id replace them.   Good luck!!!!!

Thanks Skip. When I unscrew that valve in the picture above I remove that visible top, then theres a ball, then a spring, then another ball which sits in a 1 inch long dohicky that looks just like a golf T. There is no copper washer. I looked at Agco's site and apparently I have to download some program so I can see a pic so thats what I'll do. I found a gauge so I can pressure test; as you said maybe the problem is the pump. My lift arms will not budge no matter what I have done with the lift arm lever even with my backhow pushing down on them with who knows how many pounds!!

Unhook the cylinders, the arms should come down.  If they dont then they are rusted tight, if the arms come down, then the cylinders are frozen, will have to take them off and take apart and clean up.  If in a previous life the tractor spread fertilizer or pulled an anhydrous applicator you can get corrosion in the and freeze them up.     Your correct, two balls, not one!!!    Yea, I had to download the program too, it does work.  You have to unscrew the T dohicky, it holds the copper washer in place..  Good luck.  HTH
