Does anybody have any info on Patterson & Sons Allis Chalmers here in St Johns, MI? I believe the owner is Harry Patterson but other than that I'm not sure. Do they still sell parts there? Any contact info?

I stopped in one Saturday morning and the guy at the counter took me out and showed me a 46 hour 7060.  It was SWEET, only new 7060 around I can think of !

I haven't stopped in, in a few years.  The Dad used to hang out at the counter.  He may have passed.  They had some parts, but he wasn't in any hurry to look!  They still have the G on the post?  The Dad told me the boys rebuilt it from the ground up, then took out all the internals to put it up on that post.  The show room was quite the site.  One time when I stopped in they had a completely refurbished H3 in there.  The next time I stopped the Dad said it went to GA.  It sure was a pretty little machine.

Guys I was there a month ago met Mr. Patterson. Said he's there 5 days a week from 7-5 everyday. I knocked and he unlocked door and proceeded to spend the best 3 hours I've spent in a long time. He told me how he and his dad started the dealership believe 70 years ago. He has a group of locals that stop and have coffee every morning. Told me story on G up on post. Great stories of local farmers, actually we discussed so many things  it would be hard for me to list it all here. One thing for sure if you get a chance it's a meeting you soon won't forget. I've a trip planned for next week with a friend and plan to ask Mr. Patterson more questions. By the way I think he told me he was 79, but you would never know by the way he gets around. Are discussions were both good and bad but he never lost his spark.

Would you please take pictures and post them when you visit? I have always wanted to see the inside of that place.

The brochure where that store is the cover is one of my favorites.

Thanks
Jim

A pic of their building with a yard full of new equipment was used on several A-C brochures in the late 50's.

I have a D series brochure from their dealership.  If I come across it, I'll scan it and put it on here.  I asked the Dad if he was interested in it.  He said they had all the brochures they needed.

It didn't go quite that far south. Its sitting in our barn right now. Was a really neat place when we went up there and picked it up.

Sounds like quite the dealership! I wonder if any of his stuff will be making its way up to Oakley Michigan in Aug for the GOTO?

Beautiful looking AC 7060. Hard to believe it's only got 46 original hours on the clock. What's the story behind it? NOS that the dealer could not sell? Demonstrator model?

If he doesn't Williams Farm Machinery In Charlotte, MI. is a good place. And they do have a web site.
Not far from me.

I visited the Patterson dealership for the first time during the GOTO in Oakly. They were selling parts etc. Harry was behind the counter visiting. I was there when a deal was made for the 7060. It now is among siblings at one of the finest A-C collections in Michigan. It went where Harry wanted it to go and a very good home. We just received a very nice Christmas card from the new owners with the 7060 in the background. There was a story about the dealership in OAN last year.  Merry Christmas to all !
