There are a lot of variables on the G.  Does it have manual or hydraulic lift?  Either way, if it really does run, $2000 would not be too bad of a deal on it.  Could be a steal if it has hydraulics

When you get back to look at the G, be sure to look around for implements.  I'm hunting seeders andvegetable cultivators.

Mike44: where in NY are you? I'm in the finger lakes region, I have two G's and would be happy to loan you a battery or something to test it... If it is set up and the guy wants to let it go really cheap (and you aren't interested) LMK...

really cheap would be like $500, if the engine is siezed and the tires are shot, that's good money.. however if the tires are good, and it has implements and hydraulics, then it will probably go for more...
If all it needs is a tuneup and a battery 2000 is a good price... I paid less than that for my G's both run and have good tires, but they essentially had no working implements... (lots of partial implements).
The guy I bought mine from was only trying to sell the one G, but I made him a package deal offer on both :)

Offer him what you want to spend, if he says no, there is no harm... You can't offer more than you have.  Too many people spend beyond what they can comfortably afford and that is where you get into trouble... I'd love to see pics when you get a chance!
