I need a tractor for the planter and sprayer is a d17 to small for a 6row planter.

Pull a JD 7000 6-30 with a WD45.Two 150lb weights and no fluid(but was nicer with fliud).Flat gound/no problem.

A 6 row 30 on a D17 would be no problem unless it was no till or had starter fertilizer and even then would probabley be fine unless you have alot of hills.

Years ago, I knew of two fellas who both pulled 8 row wide (38") JD 7000 planters with D17 series 4's in fairly rolling ground. Both had rear wheel dual tires and were in great shape mechanically. Both said they could only run high 2nd gear at wide open throttle. Pulled hard at times, but not as hard as a plow. After many years of this, they both went on to 185's and remarked how much cheaper the diesel was to run.
