My engine # R 6661 G
has the # on the flange like TomMN's picture
If they made 5500+ RC tractors, why would they have made 6600+ R engines ?

I have a power unit here that has a CE engine number, but has the split type RC grill.

Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

One of my Allis books says that power units could have had CE/R/CR engine #'s. Probably whatever was handy at the time?

Lonnies RC 5084 has engine SN R7468G in it. I think a picture is beginning to form that the engine used in the RC was the same as the 60H power unit engine.
We need to determine some casting date information on the Rxxx prefix engines with
3 3/8 bores.
What made them different from the CE 3 3/8 bore engines?

Just looked at more of my tractors. My other C has the engine # on the flange and both C's and the RC have the same casting #. I would say it's the same motor, only the hand stamped # is different depending on the use of the motor.
