Ran a Allis and one Cat Hand Slapper mechanical, NOT fun if performed poorly!! If used properly and adjustment made rapidly a Good operator(NOT Myself) could hold grade levels within 1/8", seen that done.

Reading this it seems CAT was way behind in the grader market .
I have a ADAMS - 411 grader I bought here locally around 1976 that had been used for grading on a dirt short track speed bowl in Stillwater MN . Powered by a UD 14 - IH engine that started on gas and then when running switched over to diesel power . Mechanical blade circle , raise and lower , leaning wheel , hydraulic rear brakes and mechanical drum brake at rear of transmission . 14' blade on circle . Old decal on side of cab had name of a Contractor in Hamond WI - faded down to hard to read now . Road speed is what one can call slow - yet with 4 speed transmission it produces good power for rough grading |

Hi. I’m new to the forum and I recently purchased an Allis Chalmers D road grader and I am wondering where to purchase a left side drive axle as my grader is just driving on the right side wheels . My grader is a 1955 grader. Any advice or parts availability is greatly appreciated. Thanks
