Today’s forecast was apparently sunny with scattered downpours but they forgot the downpour part!

We never worried too much if it rained right after mowing, as we could always chop the hay and put in a silo. Now if it was almost ready for baling, then it got rain soaked, well then at times it got interesting especially when the silo’s were full.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Nice looking XT Travis!! Sure wish I was running mine mowing hay. Send some rain to Va we are burnt up. No second cutting for us in the near future and we will need to start feeding our cattle as our pasture fields are not recovering . Second year in a row that we are in serious drought conditions.

Been the exact opposite here, won’t stop raining. Stuff I cut in the picture is first crop that normally would have been cut by June 1st. Rains every other day, had 9” in the month of June and 3.3” so far in July. Town about 10 miles from me got 5.5” in 2 hours on Saturday morning, been tough weather for making hay and a lot of fields that never got planted because it’s just too wet.

Either way you look at it, we both are having challenges making hay. Crazy how weather patterns are so different in different parts of the country. We normally do not have drought conditions but the past 2 years has been miserable. Started feeding round bales yesterday. That Normally doesn’t happen until November

Rob, Watch for what you wish for. You might wind up getting drowned one day. LOL! It's hot n' dry here, but we did get some passing showers through in the afternoon and evening hours. Last summer it rained darn near every day here. The Mosquitoes would've carried you away. They were terrible. This year so far, the bugs have been way down due to the heat & dry conditions. The dog doesn't even want to go outside with this heat. Can't say that I blame him. He hides in the Laundry room during the day and sleeps.... Jo Jo stays indoors as well. She's not good in the heat either.....

They keep teasing us with 30% chance of showers, it was 60% yesterday. I got 11 teasing rain drops...maybe 12.  from a passing cloud. Hit 101 yesterday, in the high 80’s today which was a nice change.

10% chance yesterday so I raked hay. Just finished and got 3/10th’s in 15 minutes. 2 miles down the road, nothing! Can’t win this year.

Yep, we've been getting LOTS of rain here in western WI. Every other day since it got warm enough to stop snowing. Mosquitoes by the THOUSANDS and lots of gnats/no-see-ems as well. Now they are predicting no rain for about 6 days, but in the 90s for that long also. UGH!!
I wonder what it's going to be like at Hutch?!?!
