What is the reason for the exhaust pipe being an oval shape? Id like to put a pipe on it to get the fumes out of my face.

Swell it out round so that a 1-1/2" piece of exhaust pipe will fit over it. I've done it many times. Or just get one of the above hood mufflers for the small hole in the hood.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY
