Are the 2500 centerfold later model orange disc heavier than the early model 2300 hydraulic wing fold discs?

Thanks cory

Two completely different classes of discs. 2300 is old style angle iron frame that flexes. 2500 is formed rectangular tube with 22 inch blades.

I have had both 2300 and 2500 discs - a lot easier to get a level cut with the 2500. Also, the 2500 pulls easier than the 2300 in my opinion.

They all will make a level cut.

There is more variables as you go bigger and heavier which take adjustment.

Such as:

1 Speed
2 Leveller discs on the end of the gangs - some have one or two
3 Angle of gangs
4 Space between both the front and rear gangs
5 Furrow leveller between front gangs on some models
6 Rock flex hangers - they can plug easier and push dirt if not careful
405, 7000, 7050, 8050, 8070, L3, 2300 & 2600 disk

2300's came in two series - the first were all orange - the later ones were beefed up in areas and had greaseable bearings and had the gangs painted black.  2300's had ez adjustable gangs  with many positions vs the 3 position 2500's.  If memory served correct the 2300 were in the 60#/foot vs around up to 90# for the 2500.   One fun fact on the 2300's was the hydraulic fold up versions were about as wide folded up to transport as they were folded down... a fact competition pointed out many times :-)
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

I remember my Boss saying not to sell a 2300 with 22 inch blades because it won't work out well. Blades too close to the frame above and it will plug in some conditions.
