    Posted: 21 Oct 2010 at 7:11pm
Two weeks ago I bid on an Oil Filter Bracket for my B on E-Bay and the starting bid was $.99 cents and somewheres around $8.00 for shipping.  I won it for the $.99 cents because no one else bid and paid the man.  I waited a week for delivery and nothing came.  I then got an E-Mail from Pay Pal saying my money was returned to my account with a note that the seller put in that he "couldn't find it".  I'm wondering how come he was able to take a picture of the item and list it and all of a sudden can't find it.  If it closed for over $20.00 and I bet there would be no problem locating it!  What do you think?

I'd leave him a negative.. which he deserves and he can't leave you a negative back these days  I totally agree he "couldn't find it" because it went for .99 cents.  Keep watching his listings and when he think it's safe to do so, he'll list it again hoping for more money.  Mike

Fred, sorry to hear about your bad ebay experience.   I don't understand why he didn't just ship the item and be done with it.   I think the can't find it, is a piss poor excuse.   When I started selling things on ebay, I used to start items for .99 and every now and then you would get an item like yours which would sell for just .99   I did think it was a waste of time and effort to list the item, package it, and ship it, and by the time you're done with the seller fees and the paypal fees, you lost money.   But I always shipped it.   Now I start my items for 4.99    If they do sell, at least I break even or make a buck instead of doing all of the effort.

On another note, what oil filter bracket are you looking for?   The normal bracket that the oil filter screws into?   Do you need the oil tube also, or just the bracket.   I think I have three or four around here, that I would gladly ship to you for the shipping cost.   I normally don't even try to sell them, as usually they don't sell.

Thanks fellow for the kind offer.  I have one already and even performed a modification on it.  When I saw one for a starting bid of $.99cents I figured I'd bid on it and have it on the shelf in case I did something stupid with the other one.  Thank you again for the offer.  I will be putting the tractor back together real soon.  I'm a day or two away from painting.  When I start it up I will know if I need another one.  I'll keep your offer in mind.

Fred, a spare is always good, but your modification will work just fine. Are you going to post a pic or two?
