    Posted: 09 Aug 2023 at 8:52am

On my 170D I have had ongoing fuel delivery & leak problems since I purchased it a couple of years ago. I haven’t been able to use it yet.  It started as a leaky fitting in the bottom of the fuel pump and progressed from there. Frustration set in and work on the tractor was sporadic at best. I hooked up a temporary electric pump for bleeding and yesterday I started it up and it idled really fast. Scared the daylights out of me. I have never touched the injector pump so I don’t know the next step. Can I take off that little can over the idle screw and see if I can lower the idle? It ran okay the last time it was shut off but it did have a wonky throttle lever. It is just worn out on the shaft where the lever rotates. Any input would be appreciated as I need this tractor up and running. I can't seem to find the little tree to click on for photos.

Go to little grey "post reply" on left edge above this "quick reply"  box for the tree.

The can covering the screw on back is the hi idle screw, no need to mess with that. Low idle is at an angle on the CAV pumps, sounds like your lever just may be in the wide open position? Something is odd.

Steve thanks for the photo  info. I don't know how I couldn't find the green tree.

Ed could I just unthread that throttle cable at the lever to try and eliminate the throttle system?

Thanks Ed. I was just sitting here looking at the photo and where you said the low idle screw is. I was not even close to it so that means the throttle is wide open. I know I pushed it hard up against the dash.EmbarrassedEmbarrassed My Kubota is at idle if I push it up so I guess old age and the amount of time since I have used this tractor is taking it's toll. Thanks very much for your assistance. I will go out now and see how she works. Ed says "something is odd". It's the operator!!!
