Hey all, I am finally putting the clutch together on the WD. Should the outer 6 bolts that hold the pressure plate on be torqued for tightness? Or is this just a guess on how tight they should be? Also, When adjusting the pressure plate forks through the bell housing, is there a correct distance between the forks and thrust bearing? Just wondering, this is really my first clutch job. Thanks! Don

Yes , get grade 8 bolts and torque to 22~24 ft/lbs. I don't know off hand but a 1/4" on fork to throw -out bearing I'd guess.

174, ADJUSTMENT. Clutch pedal
should have 1/2 to one inch of free travel when measured between pedal and top of tractor frame rail. This amount of free pedal travel produces the desired clearance of 1/4 inch between release bearing face and face of release levers. Adjustment is made by turning the threaded pivot (12— Fig. AC77). |
