Anyone out there ever machine out a D17 flywheel to accept a 12" clutch, like from a 180?
I need to replace the clutch in my puller, I think the late model pad clutch will be fine for now, but while it`s out, just thinking, you know how that gets you in trouble.
Thanks George

I`m not afraid to try but sometimes it`s not nessary to reinvent the wheel either, I will share anything to help someone from maby reuning a part by trial and error. If there are no negative reports I`ll most likely try it, seems doable enough.

I would think a 11 inch clutch would hold about any hp . Seeing that 11 inch is used in automotive and has plenty of designs from floaters to button disc etc not including numerous pressure plate designs as well

I think it`ll hold fine, just thought I`d through it out there and see if it had been tried. i`m probably just going to install a pad type, with a good pressure plate.
mlpankey, do you use a multi dics behind the big 226?

Going to add some more ponies this winter, have done well this season but having to deal with too many six cylinder now in 4500 and 5500#. Only won by 4" over a Oliver 88 Saturday night, clutch went to slipping in second high, just got lucky. Had to drop back to first high in 5500 and it held.
