Maybe that PDF could be added to the "Plows 101" in the knowledge section. I think I may have found some old stock shares for what I'm trying to do.

I'm beginning to think AGCO's on-line parts book for these old plows is missing a few pages. I wonder if the "374" slat bottom was for 70/80 series plows?? and the "394" was for the 9000 series and newer plows ?? and then also go backwards to the "364" slat to a 60 series ?? That would make sense and no such information available. With that in mind, I even wonder if the (70)569430 share p/n is even correct for my plow bottom ?? The metal tag attached to each bottom 385928-4 is the definitive info of what I have for a bottom series.

I bought a new Mod.83 plow in 1972 with 374 slat bottoms and a few years later bought a new 2000 mono-frame 4 bottom and it had 394 slat bottoms. The 394 was the last slat bottom for AC. Doc, you mentioned 1965 so I would say you have a 374 bottom or earlier. The 394 bottom had the long brace going to outer end of slats bolted to "inside" of vertical beam and 374 had that long brace bolted to "outside" of vertical beam. The position of this brace on the 394 bottom made it stronger to prevent the outer end of the slats from wanting to "lay back" and turned the furrow better than the 374 bottom. I know this doesn't help with what you're looking for and you are right on AGCO parts not being much help.

Tracy, that is why the AGCO sight isn't much help. All they show is a 394 slat bottom.

569430 is the plow share I think I need, but not sure. I've cleaned off the backside of one and there isn't any number to work with.

Have you tried Dave Sousa the plowman. He might have NOS shares. I have some plow bottom manuals. Text me some pics and I will see what they are if possible. The manual for the 70 and 80 mounted plow shows 364 and 374 slat bottoms if that helps.Tracy

I've got a really nice (but weathered) 1965-ish 3 x 14's 70 series snap-coupler fully mounted plow with slat-bottoms. It is just like the one my Dad bought new when I was 12 years old. The AGCO website isn't the best on this old equipment, but I think it has "394" series bottoms, that I assume are 14 inches wide for cut. The metal I.D. tag says 385928-4. I'd like to find new plow shares/lays/blades and think what I need is 70569430 and of course there are none available from AGCO. I was able to find a 70569431 which is supposed to be for a 16 inch 394 bottom. I was hoping it would have the same bolt pattern and maybe just have a longer tail, which I could easily shorten. Well, that didn't exactly work out. The bolt pattern is very similar, but spaced differently. I was thinking about trying to drill new holes in the blade to match the holes in the frog. Then, thread the new holes to 3/8" NC and install gr 8 bolts from the bottom side of just the right length. Not sure I can do this and if I do, I'll need to do all three bottoms so the cut depth is identical. Sure like to know if I really do have 14 inch bottoms and what might be my best blade option to be sure the plow will go in the ground when I show it off next spring on a plow day with a bunch of 2-bangers. Had a lot of fun about 3 weeks ago plowing with the high-platform One-Seventy and my 4 x 14's snap-coupler fully mounted 70 series plow. I had new blades on the 387 bottoms and the plow did a really nice job. Had to try and work in a land by myself ( or in the lead) as the others were too slow.
