Looks like here in Wisconsin it's going to be a late spring. Farmers are reported to be 3 weeks behind on field work, grass is growing slow, temperatures are below normal. Corn prices seem to be slowly trending up.

For sure Dan. Here too. 24 this morning, they were talking it might be a record low, not sure if it was or not. Frequent rains and more coming, I figure I'm at least 2 weeks behind.

First 20 acres in the ground and oddly enough I’m finding moisture here on this particular flood ground
Sadly we had a 85% chance of severe storms last night and I could actually smell the smell of rain but of course not even a sprinkle. Neighbor took his 14 year old daughter out because she had never smelled rain in her life, so at least there was something positive about it. |

106°F here yesterday, but the humidity was 5% so it doesn’t really feel that hot.
What little corn there is that I’ve seen is about 5 leaf. Edited by CrestonM - 10 May 2022 at 1:40pm |

Most of the corn has made it up. First round of beans are breaking through, second round is sprouted. This heat helps give em a push. Soil conditions have been less than stellar(planted a little too wet?)

Some of the dry ground around us has been planted but mostly too wet. Maybe the 80-ish degree weather this week will help. More rain in the forecast for the weekend though. A lot of not so happy farmers just waiting.

Guys are planting, seeding ,beans and corn. Not as much going on locally but have heard areas with lighter soils making progress. Seed companies actually sent out bulletin's concerning the extreme temperature switch, seed is cold and when it hits the warm moist air it is getting so much condensation on it that it could cause planting problems, they recommend putting the seed somewhere to warm up.
