I'm new to Allis-Chalmers. But reading some of the posts on wd45 engine builds there has been some talk about putting Farmall H rods in a 226. But I have not read any posts that goes into detail on if they are just drop in or if there is machine work needed? What was in one of the other posts is that this raises the piston 1/2 inch. Is this true?

There is more than one "H" Farmall rod, I think.   8 inch center to center would be 1/2" longer than the A-C rod and there is such a thing. I do not know large end diameters or pin size.

Crankshaft rod journal on the AC is approx. 2.375" when new and depends on how many times it's been reground undersized. Piston pin is .990".
