I found this WC with these tires on the and I was wondering if they came from the factory with that kind of tire? I got the picture from an old 2019 Miller catalog.

I think that was what you could get back then. A lot of those old gals were converted to rubber. I never sold any with that tread design, but I can tell you they are a bear to get off. Some have Been on there 60-65 years.

I have no documentation but they were certainly installed on tractors in the 40's.

I think we put them on a 1939 WC as a replacement, not positive as that was a long time ago.

My memory is not very good anymore but is seems like tractor tires from Montgomery Wards had tread like that.

When Pop Sold them he really disliked the tire cause the closed center tread did not have any "Bite" The tire was made by Firestone. Some time later Firestone went to the tire design similar to Good Year but they curved their tire treads slightly to get around Good Year's design.
If I recall almost all Firestone tires at that timeframe were of that design. "Chicken Track" Sounds appropriate You guys bring back to me some very old memories. Good Luck! Bill Long

Thanks for all the replies a’ll.
My cousin also has a John Deere model H manure spreader with that kind of tread on them( it has been holding a barn up for years so I don’t know the traction of it). |

I got a set for a 1934 WC from a (I think) 1942 parts WC, they were said to be original on the parts one.
The pictures are of them on the 34. |

I have a 1957 D14 that has that type of tire on it. This tractor was parked and not used anymore in the 1970’s. I bought the tractor from the son of the original owner, and he says that was the original tires on my tractor.
I know it’s a lot newer than the WC we are discussing, but it’s what I was told when buying my tractor. I believe I saw a brief picture of a D14 with these tires on one of the original Allis videos on YouTube. Although most D14’s came with regular tread tires, and mine could have also, but they look the right age and the owners son said they had never put tires on it. Probably will never know for sure. Not that it really matters. |

On way to tell is if there is any scratches around the bead of the tire, most people will scratch that part. |

That is a Firestone tread design. I have a set on a 48 WC and they ride almost as hard as steel wheels. I think these were the factory tires on this WC. 13x28s
