I bought a 5100 soybean special grain drill 3 years ago. This spring I noticed some wear in the closing wheel system. So I removed the row units and repaired then.
My question is do I need to lock the seed tube into the row units or can they be free floating? |

If you are talking about the large seed tubes, I would want them in the disc openers as intended. Now, the small seed tubes get blocked with mud divers pretty quick and up to you. We leave those off and just drop down. Makes a heck of a mess to clean up but seems to do a better job.
