I am  in need of a steering gear box and steering wheel post for a D12 Series III that is being restored. I am attempting to make the tractor as correct as possible (it currently has a series II box and post). Any help in locating one will be extremely appreciated.

Several years ago I had a problem with the steering on my D-10  series III. I would guess that your D-12 uses the same gear box.

A guy on here told me that some model Chevy car steering would inter change.
It's a long story.

I'll add another story: through my continued search, I was informed that the gear box and post were also used on a Gleaner A and Gleaner E. I have personally inspected both and not true.
Now- back to the search!

I should add that the Chevy steering box, the shaft that moves the steering arm, comes out a little more forward that the A.C. box. But it does work. I had to move the hole in the frame a little.

After I got it all together, I discovered that my problem was not the gear box but the sleeve that is molded in the steering wheel had torn loose.

I did figure out a way to fix that.
