Got this last week but I'm not sure of the age. Also what is the plate pictured used for?

That plate on top is a soybean plate. It looks to be well worn.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

Plate adapter is in the chamber. Dad had an early 333 (I think) no til planter so I'm familiar with everything but the bean plate because we never planted them

late 50 early 60's 100 series unit - note the depth lever. Would have to go back in a book to find the fertilizer opener system - can you say quadra disc? These unit had seed firmers - thought Keeton invented them eh?- The California special even had dual closing wheel option - thought Deere invented them huh? The seed disc is a 310992 - it will be stamped in the bottom - useless today as it has too large a seed cell - call Lincoln Ag they have plates although no seed corn is graded - this is where this plate - probably a B-24 -came from. Cool pic.
