I visited with Brian at Marshall Machinery, in Honesdale PA. He manages the Used Parts portion of the business.

I had not seen the dealership in at least 5 years, and things have changed quite a bit. They have a couple new buildings, and the sales lot is laid out differently. The Used Parts operation has grown considerably, and is quite impressive. He has done a very nice job of expanding that part of the business.

I sort of miss the cows and goats that used to roam the salvage yard, but heck, I guess that is progress. The activity level at the place was buzzing. It is good to see a dealership that is continuing to thrive; but sort of sad, (in a nostalgic way,) to see less and less of an Allis presence. Marshall Machinery was one of the very first site sponsors, way back on "Series I", (for those new here, who are unfamiliar with the name). I bought my first Dealer Parts Manual from them, as well as gaskets for my first '38 B.

You could say they were my original Allis dealer.

Anyway, I had a great visit, and would encourage anyone looking for parts or machinery (of almost every type) to check them out and see what they have to offer.

As for me, I'm going to try and make sure to visit more often.

I was up to see Brian a couple months ago. I try to keep in touch with him. He's a great guy to chat with in his office if he's not busy pullin' his hair out. As Glenn mentioned, he has done quite of bit of improving in the used parts end of it. They should have kept the Goats and cows on the mountain tho, because the weeds and the briar's get quite high, and its tough extracting parts without getting torn up a bit. Gotta' watch dem' snakes in dare to!....

I am still confident of this;
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

I would guess the days are gone when I bought a D-17 single front with tire and bearing holder out of the Marshall's goat pasture for $65. (2002)
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed
