I haven't tried it yet but there has been a lot of success with using a $20 carb on e-bay (china) I believe it is for a Kohler 582 twin? I bought one but have not tried it. If you go on facebook you can join the 616,620 and 720 sight, I believe it has some discussion on it.

Ok, I found that page now and the carb they recommend. Does your original carb have a flange adapter bolted to it for the rubber boot to the filter housing?

Yes it has the air cleaner hose. Like I said I have not tried it yet but from what I have read the only alteration is to open the air holes. Did you find the article on the FB website?

I believe this is the carb everyone is using on the conversion. Although it can be found much cheaper on Ebay.

Two of the holes on the face have to be opened up to meet the inlet, using a dremel or a file. If you compare it to your stock carb, you'll see which holes we're speaking of.

I have read that there are definite quality differences in the Ebay carbs and the Isavetractors version of the carb. I have no experience with this myself just yet. I've also read just how happy the owners are with their tractors after swapping to these carbs.
