I’m heading to Lincoln for few days. Was wondering if it’s worth visiting the test museum? Any members from the area?

It was an interesting visit 15 or 20 years ago. Contained tractors tested there before the test lab was enlarged and moved west on the campus.

I would recommend visiting the museum while in Lincoln, tour explains the history of tractor testing, there is a collection of tractors in the building along with gift shop. Not a large building but very nicely done. Tom - Greenwood, Ne

I've been there and it is very interesting. If you're going to be in Lincoln, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity.

If you're the least bit interested in aviation/planes-check out the Strategic Air Command Museum at Ashland, NE. Just off I-80 about half way between Omaha & Lincoln.

note hours that it's open...
If you're going to the UP Museum in Council Bluffs, and have a few $$ left over from the "boats", stop and see; |

Well I managed to tour it today
That’s one off the bucket list as I’ve known about this place since I was a kid. Also nice to see some orange there as well. |

Been there several times. Took my 45D there one year for a parade they had, and got a picture of it on the old test track. Andrew Gubbels has the 45d that was tested at the test track lives up in northern Neb. They used to have more Allis'S but they thinned out the herd a few years ago.

They just tour up the old one and built a bigger better one. The original test track was located at Mead, Neb. at the bomb manufacturing site just south of town. We used to go there for a big show every year, put on buy the testing facility. They had a WC with a frame to control it, then they would run it up a bank and tip it over to teach people about the dangers of tipping. one year they tried to test a (new to the times) front wheel assist tractor against a another tractor. I would have to look it up as to what the other tractor was, but the results wasn't much difference.
