Hey guys a little update on my Allis forklift I restored close to 2 years ago.  I've now got 60 hrs on the old girl.  I've been using it a lot on my Detroit swap, moving the engine and truck around.  It's still running well, but needs the hydraulic pump rebuilt as it's now leaking badly.  I'll address this and other maintenance items when my truck is finished.  It's sure a great little forklift and not sure how I did without it.:)

You know John, all we have to do is to ask Harling to talk more about his forklift... over a bit of time... and he'll throw in updates on his Detroit engine install 'cuz we're all ears about the finish...

Hi John, I’ve been repowering my 2009 Ford F-350 with a Detroit 4-53T. I’ll give some details tomorrow when I get back home.
Cheers Harling

I started my 4-53T repower about 18 months ago now and am finishing it up as we speak.  I used the transmission off the 6.4 that was in the truck and 13 of the sensors to make the computers in the truck happy. I used all the accessories from the 6.4 as well as the drive pulley to run them.   I've also add compound turbo's as well as a blowerbypass to the 4-53T.  I've finished up all the fabbing and testing, now I've painted the engine and am re-assebling all the accessories.  All most finished and ready for road testing.:)  Here's a video of it running before I pulled it for paint.  I've since tuned the PCM so that the check engine lights are now gone.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4K_1PKzqWQ&t=1s

P.S.  I did a full build on 4BTswaps if anyone is interested. I think you might have to register to see the pictures, but might have changed since they updated the site.  https://www.4btswaps.com/threads/detroit-4-53t-into-2009-ford-f350-with-5r110.105682/page-15#post-1064207

All very interesting!! I think you're ready for a job at NASA considering every obstacle you've had to deal with and come out being the winner!! By the way, that big link works for me w/o having to register. Thanks for taking the time to share!!

Lol, it's almost hard to tell it's a 4-53T anymore with all the gear hanging of it.:)

Quick little video of the Detoit 4-53T going through the gears in town.  Since posting this video I now have the torque converter locking in third and am now working on the flares from 3-5.  So far I'm very happy with the way the little Detroit is performing.:)
