My friends 550 , the running lights and tail lights won't work. All others and signals OK. What is likely culprit? Dealer is little to no help. Thanks Tracy

Tracy, my neighbor has a F350 not sure of year, but fairly late model, was having problems with tail lights, found a loose ground near rear of frame on drivers side.  It appeared to have not been tightened at factory.

could be a fuse..dang new trucks have 30-40-50 fuses in them ! My 97 F150 has THREE fuse panels.....my 57 Willys had 5 fuses......
hopefully you've got the owners manual, they DO list fuses, least mine does...

Had same problem on my 2016 f250. It was a blown fuse caused by a wire that had gotten pinched. I'm guessing the 550 and 250 are wired the same so I'm gonna bet you have a blown fuse caused by a short somewhere.

Fuse blocks under the hood, tend to corrode really bad and have Lighting Relays as well to reduce amperage flow thru the Lighter duty switches, the relays are not well marked except in the manuals. The Relays are troublesome.

You need someone to work on it who has a high dollar ohm tester. My son is the guru on Ford electronics and that is what you will need for your truck. In fact that's what you need for all vehicles in the  world today.     Leon
