Need to replace the pump & seeing several options. Can anyone recommend a source that has a quality part? It's a diesel. I think it's the original pump.

Just before I left home on assignment (to West Texas, btw), my D17 Series 1 gasser decided to retire it's water pump seal.... (sigh)... I'd just finished fixing the back wheel on the bush-hog, and was cutting down the waist-high grass growing it the two-wet-to-mow ditch, when I felt a warm, sweet shower of ethylene glycol in my armpits.  Seems things breakin' faster'n I can fix them... Unhappy

Several years ago, I had a half-dozen water pumps from several different machines, and rebuilt 'em all in my shop.  One of those was from my WD (with 45 motor), and I THINK...  (and I'm not all that great at thinkin') that the D17 pump might be not-same-as, but interchangeable between WD/45/17, your D262 (being of Buda lineage) might be same, or perhaps interchangable, but could be close-but-not interchangeable.  Perhaps one of the others will chime in...

Regardless, these water pumps are simple... there's a unit bearing/shaft/seal assembly that has impeller pressed on one end, and the bearing assembly is usually lightly pressed, and sometimes retained with a snap-ring... then the fan hub presses on the other end.  What I did, was dismantle all the pumps I had... bead-blasted all the housings clean, inspected 'em, then cleaned up all the bearing/seal assemblies well enough to either get part numbers or really good measurements, then ordered replacements from my local bearing shop.

Looks like I'm gonna be doing that again when I get back home, because the ditch is still way-too-wet for the ZTR to navigate.  I'll write in the step-by-step, but last time (3 years or so ago) I tried, I was all out of picture-posting space, so I haven't posted new pictures on here since then.  If the 226 gas engine pump will interchange with your diesel six, then my pump's shaft/bearing/seal kit parts might  work for your pump.
Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

WD and D17 gas water pumps are different than the later D17 diesels. 74516959 is the pump that fits the later D17 diesels and D19 gas or diesel. Not sure of a good source at this time. I will need one for a D17 series I diesel at some time when I get around to working on it.
The repair kit is 74517279 if they are still available.

Here you guys go. I get them from Tony, call him don't just look at his web site for your pump. 
3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

Late D-17 diesel has a different water pump than D-19's.  Lower fan height. Been there.

I got confused
All D19 diesels used the 74516962 as did some years D17's. Long neck or short neck radiator is the difference.
Series IV D17 diesels used the 74516959

I know first hand that the D-17 IV diesel water pump is shorter than a 262 combine and I'm sure the D-19 but its been more than 10 years so not positive about the D-19

The D17 series 4 diesel water pump should have casting number 134680 which was used serial #119938 and up and also for serial #117087-117104. The same pump as the WD45 Diesel was used prior to serial #119937 (except #117087-117104) with casting number 126627. I can supply either a rebuilt pump with exchange or a rebuild kit.
