Greetings all,
I have just noticed an oil leak on my AA 6690.  It is coming down the right side of the tractor, just back from the fan shroud/engine meeting.  The oil appears to be coming down from behind the oil cooler.  
The picture below shows the oil cooler in silver, and the leak to the lower left corner, just by the bends to the fuel lines going to the fuel pump.  


I don't see any leaks from above by the cylinder heads.  Could the o-rings behind the cooler be leaking?  Anyone ever seen a leak like this before?

I took every cover off of the machine, and ran it for a day.  I have found that the oil is coming out of the seals around the rods coming from the camshaft.  
This is part number 14.  

In order to replace these, it appears that I need to take off the cylinder heads, in order to remove the cover and get to the rods that run the valve rockers.  Once that is apart, I can pull the sleeve, and then replace the seals.  

Has anyone done this?  Any words of wisdom?

John,  I have not tried this on a 6690 but on deutz engine with the push rod tubes, remove the valve cover,push rods, then push the tubes down and compress the spring till the top of the tube will clear the head and pull it out.  to replace the tube with new seals a u shaped tool with the ends cut in a u shape to fit around the tube,would hold the spring in a compressed position on the tube, slide the seals on both ends, start the bottom of the tube in position, tilt the top of the tube back in the head, hold the tube up to the head, pull the tool off the tube. hope this helps. Dave
