This is a 1969 serial number 1038. Bought new in Madera CA. from J&M Equipment. Around 2000 original hrs. Was full of water in all tires (Different than the ones in the photos) and little over 20,000 lbs. Runs like a watch. aiting for the 5 inch chrome turn out to come in and new seat and thats it. Spent 3 hrs with a buffing wheel using McGuires to buff out. 16.5x 16.1 Diamonds and 18.4x38 Radials from another tractor.
Have a great day.
Take care, Darryl

I got the photo finally, but what is the max size to make look descent ? Well at least its on here. And yes the tach cable is off in photo, need to fix. The story was that is pulled a 16 ft. land plain in Lodi CA. it whole life. Sons took over the farm and wanted all new JD tractors. Found through my Friend Bob Vanderploeg and Bob passed it up and I got it. Sure nice to have agreat friends !!!
Take care, Darryl

Nice. Those photos were worth waiting for. Somebody sure believes in front end weight, don't they?
Did some of the 220s come from the factory with the cowling over gauges painted black, or did owners tend to do that to match up with the 200s when they came out? Mine was black and I figured it was wrong, so I was going to paint it orange with the rest of the tractor, but maybe that would be a mistake. Dad's 220 was orange, and I know we never painted it that way, maybe the dealer?
Thanks!

I would change the seat. When I first saw the pic I thought "how could a seat get that bad and have never been recovered or changed out"? Really nice tractor though.
