Seems that the wet/dry weather patterns are more prominent than ever this year. Right here at my place, I am pretty much "dry". I've had a little over 2 inches for the season, and 2 inches of that came so fast that it didn't do any good anyhow. Buddy of mine 20 miles south of me has had over 7 inches for the season. That's un-real for this area. But then, not more than 5 miles south of him, they've only had about an inch and a half. 20 miles west of me and beyond, the moisture situation is good. As I drive all around SW ND delivering chemical for my new job, I see the moisture situation is all over the board. Some places have water standing in the fields in the low spots, and other places, the crops are already suffering. Sure could use a week long soaker like we used to get once in a while. Darrel

Ya I've had close to 6" this past week. 1.75 of that tonight, but it just got muddy here tonight, mud holes finally have water in them. Friends 6 miles east have had 1/2 inch. They have thousands of acres of row crop needing rain and I've got a few acres of new seeding that doesn't need any, go figure. I wish all of you guys needing rain LUCK.

we usually have to rely on humidity to water our crops after they have emerged. but might get a few rains periodically. I too remember timely rains for our crops, but I think them volcanos screwed all the weather up. seems that ever since Mt st. Helens erupted, it hasn't been the same since. maybe you can install a pivot? I tried to help you out over the winter....

I'm in a heck of a dry pocket.  Just a few miles north or south have had some rain, even this past Saturday, not a drop for me.  You watch the radar, see the rains coming, get about 20 miles away and break into 2 pieces and go north and south of me.  We had about 3 tenths maybe 3 weeks ago, before that I don't remember a decent rain since it warmed up.

I can honestly say that I don't miss the gully washers we had in IA and the wet basement at times, but I DO miss IA!!   Here in the desert we haven't had a drop of rain at our home in Mesa since last November.   Here in the mountains, about 160 miles NE of Mesa we haven't had a drop of rain since getting here on April 15th.  Fire alert here so no campfires, or open flames, or smoking outside of a vehicle or home!!!   $500 fine if caught!!   Monsoons should start in the valley later this month which means we should see some showers here before long.   Had black bears here in the park recently looking for water!   Oh, had a forest fire last week about 40 miles north of here caused by a guy dragging the ramps on his flat bed trailer on the highway.  Burned 6500 acres before the got it under control!!!

We have had a wet spring here where I live in Ohio. This weekend we had 5.5" of heavy down pour that just went there in a streak north and south of us just got a little rain, that makes over 7" so far this month and we had over 7" last month. I am afraid it's going to turn dry and we will be crying for rain in a couple of month.

Well, we got moisture here a couple times now, so things are looking more optimistic. With my son taking charge of the farming operation in my absence, I just hope and pray that he can get a good crop. He's been pouring his heart and soul into this thing, and I don't want to see him be let down. He's way behind on spraying, but trying hard to get caught up. Wish my job was just a little less time consuming so I could help him out a little more, but then the money wouldn't be as good. It's getting to be quite a juggling act to keep everything going. Dry as a bone here.  Honestly, haven't seen it this dry this early in probably......10 years?  We had drought a couple years ago, but had some reserve going into June that time.  This time, it hasn't rained "appreciably" since the snow melted.  1/2 inch or so mid May was about it.  I have a LOT of money invested out there this year, trying to turn the farm around.  Not feeling too good.....

If they fish get trapped when the water goes down you will have free fish or fertilizer.
We had 103 yesterday and going up into high 90s today.
