We had two of the big Two-Twenty FWA tractors plowing at the Orange Spectacular last summer. I just remembered I took some field demo videos so I finally got around to putting them together and getting them posted to allis01 my YouTube channel.

Nice video, thanks again for sharing! Gotta love the sound of a 220 with a bit of a load on!
Those narrow-fronts sure don't look like there is much weight on the front end.... lol... And each one sounds a little different... -Ben

Wow! That was so cool! Thank you for posting. Question. In modern farming, do turn plows still get used? I thought recommendations were for no till to minimize soil erosion. I am not a farmer, just asking.

I won't speak for everyone else, but here no one moldboards anymore like they are doing in the video, except for terrace maintenance. Most everyone uses chisel plows, field cultivators, and some use discs.

We still plow occasionally. I am sure it won’t be popular on here but after our orchard grass wears out we plow it up, work the ground, and re seed. We don’t have a chisel, or no till equipment except for the AC corn planter. We utilize the equipment we have and it has worked well for many years.
Looking forward to plow day March 31st in New Market Va. My 190XT and 70 series plow will be ready to go. |

Great video Tom, I watched the other night when I saw a notification of a new video.
I still think that D17(at 3:50) needs some manifold gaskets and that ground looked rough plowin and tuff. We have a few around here that still moldboard plow. Some of the bottom ground along the Rock river gets turned over regularly. That being said, the guy I work for only chisels or rips high traffic areas. We pull one of those new fangled discs, they call a VT and cover a LOT of ground pretty fast. Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 16 Jan 2018 at 9:13pm |

Great video of so many nice AC tractors. The WD45 desiel sounds great with that chrome curved pipe. Those 220 FWA were especially nice to watch since I had never seen one in action. Since only 100 were built, does anyone know how many are still in existence? Is there a registry out there?
