Hello friends.
I Will be draining my transmission/ steering fluid for a changeover. Would a pre drain flush additive like Sea Foam Hy Tran flush help clean the system and valves prior to dumping fluid or is it a waste of money. I have a HD16DC. Not sure when a complete fluid change was done if ever. Thank you |

I’ve have flushed my system. With diesel fuel and run the pump and clutch several times, then drain it all out and change filters and add new oil. I flushed the trans system because of several years of still standing, and therefore condensation and dirt.
I will not recommend you to be a “can” mechanic and add all sorts of addictive in good oil. |

So long as machine is well warmed, the oil is allowed to drain fully and fresh fluid/filters installed should be no need for additive.

Hahaha spoken like a real mechanic to a filters and fluids kind of guy.
Thanks Morten, and I agree with ya. I'm not an otc additive kind of guy. Tractor sat a very long time with little or no maintenance done. Just thought system could use a good cleaning followed by Fresh fluid and filters. |
