I farm 400 acres of organic cash crops, with the hopes of having 500 some day. Currently I try to break it up in about four different crops of spelt, oats, soys and clover seed. I need a flex head for my M right now, and am finding it hard to find one. I see lots of 'complete' units for sale, in F, M, and L series combines. What one would you suggest for my operation, and would hydro drive be a must?? It looks like it will be more feasible to get a complete combine as to try and find a good used head for my M. I will pay as much for a head as I will a whole unit!! Thanks for the thoughts!!

Never been around one much but here a lot of people swear by having an F for clover. I'm a bit partial to the red machines and I don't mean Massey.

Run a wanted ad in your local farm paper. Ontario Farmer has a Gleaner F2 with "heads available".
You can buy a combine with heads and re-sell the combine. Everybody needs a hyro...........

Kevin , There is a L2 Hydro in my yard that has to move on. It sat for 8 years outside. It's running now but I'm going to pull the 670T engine and sent the rest to Walmart via China. There is a 13' dummy head with Innis Lockwood pickup and 30.5 tires (one good). Call me if your are interested in some parts.

My Dad ran all over this area of northeast Pa in the sixties with his super 100 AC combine to cut clover and timothy seed. I used to set on top right behind the drivers platform. God I wish I had some pictures of that. Memories. JCinPA
