I bought a new idea 310 corn picker last weekend. Has anyone hear ever use one before. Is it a good unit? Also any suggestions on week points in the picker.

I've never used a 310 but I've used the later 324's which is a 2 row and had the super picker upgrades which added capacity and husked a little better. The new idea's were at the top of the picker class. Only issue is that some of the older ones have a little trouble in really high yielding corn. You might have to go a little slow.

I have a new idea (AVCO) 325 with supersheller. Used it for
5 years now with no problems. I do keep it shedded by taking
off the grain auger. Corn comes out very clean.

Does anyone know of a good place to look for parts? The outside snoot is beat up and missing the toe.

Check out this article. It features Country Machinery that makes new snouts, finger wheels, and rebuilding rolls. Seem like reasonable prices. I talked to them a couple years ago about snouts but didn't end up buying the picker that needed them.

Agco dealers are limited to old stock as to what they can order.

I hear Murn Tire and Tool in Dodgeville has a lot of parts. I have driven through their lot, big salvage inventory.

I had a New Idea 324 2-row for about 10 years that I bought new and sold it for about $4500.00. Did some custom work with it after mine was picked. A good machine other than some butt shelling at the snapper rolles. A friend near me put several hundred acres per year through a 325 3-row with a sheller on it.
