I hope that black paint is just temporary for the prototype mule. If not, they're getting ready to PO the rest of the owners that they hadn't already run off with the orange fiasco.

I would imagine it is just for the prototype for testing. Black would fade out pretty quick and look terrible. Didn't Massey do up a black and chrome combine for a farm show once in the 80's?

I have been keeping an eye on that combine forum thread all day. I must say, some people on there are making some bold statements on both ends! I can't wait to see the results of these tests. I'd really like to see it up against a Lexicon but I bet that won't happen. I'd love to see our local custom harvester replace his 3 Lexicons with Gleaners.

It sure is great to have something to be excited about coming from Gleaner. I must add that there have been some refinements made to the current class 6 and 7 transverse machines in the last year or two that are very welcome. I think the R&D department has been working hard and they just might have a trick or two up their sleeves yet.

I noted that one guy on that other site thought the Gleaners were not balanced well for a 12 row head, and another thought the feeder house was too small. It would be nice to see one around this part of the country.
MortonPa, I was wondering how big are the fields in your part of the country and how big are the headers on the custom cutters machines?
