Just wondering if others have problems with water pumps on tractors that sit for a long time. WD45 has been sitting in the shop waiting for a rear main seal and last night the 4 year old grandson climbed up on it, I tried the starter just to see if the battery had any charge left didn't even start the tractor just turned it over once, any way today there was a big puddle under the water pump.

I had a used but useable 8N water pump sitting on the shelf for a few months, and one day I picked it up and it was locked up! Don't know what caused it, but I guess it's junk now.
On the other hand...that same pump was the one on my 8N when I got it. It had sat for 30 years before I got it, and it worked fine until I overhauled it and replaced it for good measure.
