Hi I'm sure this has already been covered but I cannot find a clear cut answer, I have a hd11 EP with the power shift trans and cannot find what fluid to put back in the trans? Manual calls for SAE 10? Or ATF type a, Suffix A?
What does everyone here use in these old dozers? I cannot even find anything describing an alternative. Will universal tractor hydraulic trans fluid work? or ATF? Answers are very appreciated getting frustrated here Thanks! Edited by baremetalworks - 06 Sep 2016 at 1:44pm |

My old 7G calls for Type A during severe cold, 10W during normal ops but I have opted for 10W all time and works fine. Type A was whale oil ATF, no longer made, dexron took its place but was very sluggish when I used it as a test in my machine so basically used as a flush agent and refilled with 10W all season Hytran from MFA.
