According to Swinford's book the grilles were either all orange or had the bar type grille. Did they ever have a black non-bar grille on the S1's? A buddy of mine is restoring a S1 diesel that appears to have never been repainted, yet looks like the grille was originally black. I have seen D series's with black grilles, but wasn't sure if the owner did it just to have a black front end.
Your thoughts??
Thanks for the help!
