We are thinking about changing planters to a vacuum operated unit. We currently plant corn with our 8030 and drill beans with the 8050 and nether planter is a vacuum unit. My question is will these tractors operate a hydraulic motor to run the vacuum pump. Both tractors have three remotes. If one remote is constantly running the hydraulic pump is there enough volume to lift the planter and run the markers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank rieg.swoh

I pull a Great Plains 12 row twin with my 8070. The planter has a hydrulic drive air fan. I have to stop on the ends and wait for the markers and lift. Get along fine. Dealer set up oil returns on tractor when I bought planter new in 08. Love those twin rows. C.W.

I have a vaccum 7200 JD planter and I have only two remotes on my tractor and my planter came with a PTO pump that runs the vaccum and I like it. It frees up the remotes and I still have full hyd. presure to run the rest of the planter.

yes you can run the vacuum pump and the lift at the same time if you set the flow controls on the tractor to do so.
