I have a old craftman mower that is about 20 years old, with a B&S engine in it. It starts fine, no smoke and runs fine! The oil was changed on a regular time frame. The issue is I do believe that a rod or bearings are about to explode!! It has a louder that normal sound to it.
What, if anything do anyone recommend to put in the oil to try to "buy time" till the explosion! I am not going to put much or any big money in to it for the rest of the mower is wearing out. I didn't now if Lucas oil treatment, or something similar would help out? |

Hmm - could look inside and see how bad things are - I had a Tecumseh that seized on the rod bearing - took it apart - used caustic soda to remove aluminum from journal - polished it lightly - then took brake hone and polished inside or rod - then plasti-gauged it to fit rod by scraping joints on cap to rod polished it again with hone until
Ran for another 2 years -
