   Hi,

I'm cleaning out my RC gas tank with muratic (sp?) acid and I read I'm supposed to rinse it out with solvent or a non-oil based reducer.  Any suggestions on what to use?

	I did that once and was told to rinse it with water. I did but it will flash rust if you don't dry it completely and quickly.

	acid is an "acid" so you want to use a "base" to neutralize it. after flushing once with water, pour 2-3 spoons of baking soda in with a gallon of water and slosh it around.
	Like them all, but love the "B"s.

	It is OK to use water to neutralize the acid, but then you need to use" MEK"Methyl Ethyl Keytone. It is a hot solvent that can be bought at paint stores, such as Sherwin Williams. The MEK will absorb the water . You need to use it in two applications to make sure that you get all the water out, or it will flash rust back. Then you can apply the tank liner. This is how REDKOTE advises to use their product. The MEK does not have to be completely dry to apply the redkote. The MEK is the same solvent used to thin REDKOTE, so it is compatible. This is the only way to get a sure trouble free job with a tank liner. Dave. P.S. you can go on the REDKOTE web site for exact directions. Use google

	We make new tanks for specialty vehicles where I work and we buy the kits from KBS in Indiana and they come with everything you need to do the job. We have had very good luck with them. They have a website.JP
