I use a regular engine enamel like Plasti-kote or any kind of paint designed for the use on engines. Your local Auto Parts store should have something. I painted my 620's Onan engine Machinery Grey engine enamel. Looks pretty nice to me. I also detail out the engine in other area's also cause' I'm anal with that kinda stuff. The main thing you want to do is make sure its super clean. That's how you'll get the longevity out of the paint job. If you're painting over that nasty green factory paint that's on your Onan, make sure you sand that real good, and then run over it with Brakekleen or Lacquer thinner. Prep, prep, prep. That's important! If you don't prep it real good, that factory paint will lift eventually, and take the paint you applied over it off to. That factory paint doesn't last sometimes...
