Seeing this prompted a question. A couple weeks ago i stumbled on what appears to be a mysterious d15. It was yellow but looked pretty much like an ag version d15 series 1. I didn't examine it very close but i saw it in a farmers shed when i was there. It had ag wheels and a power director so it kind of threw me off. It also had some kind of loader on it. Im thinking it's just a normal d15 that might have gotten painted yellow, but could have it been offered this way as an industrial? It's been sitting and is not in very good shape but its had my mind wondering what it is.

Advice for the 3pt: Take it OFF and store it away, install a Snap-Coupler. If that poorly designed 3pt is used, at best it will fall out from under the tractor. At worst it will strip the threads out of the housing. If the traction-booster lever is set too high the arms will raise and not come down. This can also happen if the link to the pump is incorrectly adjusted.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Industrial 615 is the model. I’m in love with the fact that I don’t have to shift to go in reverse I just pull the hand clutch backwards what a great idea

Sorry that probably made no sense what would the PTO brush hogging RPMs be on this machine for tilling or brush hogging? Or where can I get a manual better yet?

Prior discussion on one I was looking at bringing home from 2 miles down the road. I passed, bought another D15II AG version for running cutters; heat build/reliability on 540 rated cutter even with big gear box was not something I wanted to try. Not to say it won't work, just not for me . . . .

Any D-14/15 or the industrial version I-60,I-600, 615 with a shuttle will have a PTO speed of approx 780 rpm and be equipped with a PTO shaft with 21 splines the same as the standard small 1000 rpm shaft. This is because of the extra gears needed to speed up and reverse the low side of the power director clutch in order to make it a shuttle. The PTO is driven from gears ahead of the Power director/shuttle clutch pack.

The 615 pictured was a highway dept. mower which we purchased and restored.Judging from the positive responses here, I should find another one.

The first D15 industrials were nothing but an ag tractor with a HD non adjustable wide front and standard color was yellow. In 1961 Delaware county Ohio ordered several industrial D15 tractors with optional adjustable wide front ends from Larcom and Mitchell in Delaware. Think about that one for a minute. They ended up with yellow painted farm tractors. Why can I remember all of this when I was only 6 at the tine? Because Delaware County didnt take all of the order and stuck L&M with a couple. Dad had one brought to the farm for a demo and I remeber well it being yellow. After a week on the farm he told them to take it back and paint it orange and when it was delivered he would have a check for them. |

Nice story! Hopefully you have a picture or two? I have a cat skid steer so I suppose that’s one of the reason I like this color as well haha. I love the gas pedal option as well!

Interesting input on all having small 1000 pto shaft as I have crawled around two over the years and both had standard 540 shaft . . . . .

If I can figure out how to get images to load I would show you mine. It's bit of work in progress. And when I say progress, I mean really slow progress. It has a broken spool valve right now and that pretty much has me dead in the water.
