Rails look really recent, pads are like new. Is a AC not FA by label and a 16B. Couldn't find the hour meter but as noted left him a message to find out how much. S/N 17-01414. I have no idea what it weighs, cutting bits are reasonable, blade and arms look clean. Lots of seepage leaks, finals(both), one upper roller, minor on top of trans, none as I could see on engine. Twin heads, inline Am Bosch fuel inj pump so believe it to be Allis power. |

Mr. Miller, are you thinking of leveling the hills around you to make flat farmland? Nice machine, should be fun if the price is right.

I am thinking I could do a lot of work around here with this!! All the undercarriage I could see had Berco stamps on it.

Need to ask, any idea of weight of these machines? HP? The blade is 12' wide semi-U.

Thanks Mel, thanks to all on this so far. Looks to may need sprocket segments in due time but bottom rollers and the guide rollers look to be recent as the rails. One upper guide roller is leaking but the others seals are dry. So about 24 ton with blade on and ROPS. If my measuring was correct these are unit type specific 7.850 rail so segments would also be type specific to the tractor. Still no call back from the owner.

AC Mel; do you think I would be off base to set a high bid of $8000 on this machine due to lack of available spares even with the newer rails? Will cost a few $$ to get the blade off and move 24+ tons of steel to my place, local grade contractor set $2.50 a loaded mile and $85/hour for a mechanic with a boom truck for disassembly. Will take two trucks to haul.
I fully intend to work the machine if and when I get a call back PRIOR to any chance of purchase. Edited by DMiller - 04 Dec 2016 at 9:31am |

Dave, It appears to be a very very nice specimen. 8K would be a screamin deal (assuming everything works) maybe even if some things don't work.
Is there a reason you have to take the blade off to haul it? It seems like the proper size lowbed would be able to haul it anywhere with the proper permit and maybe a pilot car? Even in the "anti business state of California" are blanket wide load permit would let us move that pretty easily with pilot cars. The post I put on there of us moving our 16B where we took the blade off and the tractor trunions was done so we could haul it on a red line restricted highway that would save us probably 2 hours of driving threw metropolitan traffic. Once it's down to 102'' or less it's "load and go" anywhere including the Napa Valley wine country, where we were. |

We live on a two lane blacktop 4+ miles out off the closest State highway, to get it here would be across a couple of bad turns and reasonable grades with no shoulders where a ten foot we could get away with but a twelve may not. Would depend on the hauler if they would chance it. No requirements in MO for Ag service as to pilot cars. I was just figuring would be less likely to need the permits to move it. Machine is just at 50 miles away from the house.

DMiller, I don't think you will have to worry about restrictions up to 5m off a main highway. After that it's permits. As a piece of ag. equipment you may be able to get by. But would probably be wise to check and make sure. I don't know how sharp the people are in the licensing and permits in Hermann, but here in Fulton they leave a lot to be desired. You may have to call Jeff City. Sure looks like a straight machine.

The truck will follow pretty much the same track wether it is empty or loaded, so width of the road shouldn't matter much. The only thing that would be an issue would be if there was something in the way right at the edge of the road that the blade would hit. |

Mail boxes inbound, lots of mailboxes!! Not so much outbound. Lots of corners, blind hills, not much room to maneuver so meet a bus or another truck and no shoulder could spell SITUATION! Would have to drag it in by way of US 54 to B in Auxvasse to cut back to MO19 or chance I-70 for the short run Kingdom City to New Florence. Still no word on pricing or available or not. Left second message.

Got the price tag and history. Machine was a older man's love before he passed away, bought for $30,000 some years back, rails and other improvements made just before he passed. Was originally intended as a farm unit but he did use it for some contract work having a neighbor haul it. Machine is a 74/75 year, has been regularly maintained and the gent used to go to all the Goto shows for Allis. Loved AC, loved having AC but I will not per family request drop a name.
Ask price has dropped from $20,000 to 18,500 with a LITLLE wiggle room, I know a bottom line but will not reveal that either as requested as it was a basic buy it now for me today. I really want it, cannot go there right now and hate to see a good machine sit idle! Open for anyone else here at 18500 or negotiate some with the young woman on her Dad's tractor. Lots of heartfelt emotion on the call with her, she misses her Dad. |

I don't think permits for that size machine would be that expensive. From the route you described I'm still not sure you would need permits. Bob Bentley here in Fulton might be able to move it for you and would be close and reasonable.

$18,500 is a lot of money but it's a lot of machine and as you say, is in very good condition. A new one of the same size is probably close to a quarter million. Just depends if you feel you can do enough work with it to make it pay. Besides, it's only a little over twice what you wanted to pay, lol.

The 17- serial number is the engine. The tractor serial number appears to be around 19S11000? Hard to see... Looks good though, I would like to have a 16B myself.

Another note on the 16B Segments- many of the 16 segments, even when new, did not have the deep profile that the 11s had, and tend to look worn very quickly. I'd say that undercarriage looks really nice, would last for any farm duty.

That is what I thought, was uncertain on the s/n as the tag had been scraped pretty hard and gouged. When zoomed in on the tag looks like 19S-11058
Thanks for looking too. I am still trying to find a way to buy it, just keep finding empty pockets as always. |
