i have a 180 gas tractor and an opportunity to get a running 190xt motor .Question is will a 190xt motor fit in the 180 without much modification

No you'll have to change the fuel tank also unless your gas tank has a plug in the top to put the fuel return to and also the thottle linkage has to be changed I think . We have a gas combine engine for 1200 if that would help Niel

thanks anway neil but my gas motor runs fine would like to put the bigger diesel in place of .

where are you located? I have a 180 diesel engine, but need a 190XT diesel. Could save me and you from having to swap alot of parts from one engine to the other.
