While it's a little ugly it says runs and drives. Tires appear round. I've always maintained that a running working tractor is worth at least a thousand dollars. For five hundered I think your getting a deal. Give it a tune up chasing all the fluids and use it till your comfortable with the condition before investing in paint or upgrades.

CAn't tell much from one picture. It could be a bargain if everything works as it should and the rear rims aren't rusted out, but it could be a money pit too if sompin isn't right and you start fixinn things as you go.

If it runs and you can drive it to test the hand clutch and all the gears then the price is good.  Also the curved shifter may indicate that this is a WD45 which gives it more power than just the WD.  If it can't be started then you must assume nothing works and I would not give more than $200-300 for it.  Good luck.

If your in it for a challenge! Buy it! If it runs and moves go for it! Then get the check book out! Headlights, figure the fenders are rotten where they attach, all the oils are shot and will need to be flushed out a few times. Hope the block isn't cracked... But can always part out and recoup 500 bucks! Ask about implements looks like an old AC farm! May score big! Good luck, I'm enjoying the heck out of my WD project!

even the one behind it has a can on the exhaust, so if they care enough to do that, there is some  hope...

The price is not toooooo bad. Assuming the tires are ok as is. I paid almost that much for a WD with stuck engine. Just depends how bad you want it? Might be a 45 which is a little more desirable. More pictures would help too.

Pull the dipstick if the bottom is rusty that means it's been sitting with water in the oil pan.

If the rear rims are both good, you can't go wrong for $500. The rear rims alone are worth half the asking price.

It looks like it will need tires all the way around.

This one has potential. Yes you will need some tires.
Again about what I paid for one and it didn't run and had bad tires too. So even if they gave it to you you could put $2000 into it pretty easy.
Good luck.

 Chris

Kind of hard not to go for it for $500.  I'd still offer 4 and see what happens. Or even start off with $300 saying the tires, fenders, lights, lift arm latches....anything else that is bad/missing.  MAKE SURE it runs though... Have HIM start it for you.

Good luck,
Not sure that left tire is going to be able to be saved? Some folks may shy away for that reason. Calls don't buy the item. Parts are readily available for the 45.
 I have seen worse.

A WD45 for $500 bucks and it runs? Don't dilly-dally. I think that's a pretty good price even if it may need tires. If yer' lookin' for a neat project Tractor, there it is! Stick some air in the tire and get it up on a Trailer and git' it home!  Good luck!

My advice...Just make sure it will run for a while...not just for a few seconds and that is has some power and it doesn't smoke !!! I bought a tractor once,...it did not run too good,, the seller said "it just needs some carb cleaner and it will run ok"""" I believed him..what I should of said was if that is all it needs why didn't you do that before I came and got it running right! Learned a lesson there!
It is great being a disciple of Jesus! 1950 WD, 1957 D17...retired in Iowa,

David there are better ones around here, unless you are desperate for one, don't be in a hurry. Pick up The Exchange, local shopper that goes over the bottom 1/2 of Iowa and a lot of Missouri. More of them in there are being sold by retired farmers or the widows or sons and daughters that don't have a need for dads old tractor. . Most of them would have been taken care of in their working days, as the owners dependaded on them to make a living.
