 Topic: Freeman loader seals

I tore apart my lift cylinders on my freeman loader today. They had been leaking and are in dire need of new seals. I got the seals out, they are rubber o-rings two fit around a steal ring and one fits in the outward flange. My question is does anyone know where I might find these o-rings? They look pretty standard. 1 1/2" inner diameter, 2" outer. I am hoping I can find some without having to order them online. I searched tractor supply's website but I couldn't find them. I added a picture to help with identification. I plan on stopping by a few tractor shops tomorrow but if any one knows the best place to go, I would appreciate the help. Thanks, Brian

I rebuilt a set this last winter and I got my packings from the local Agco dealer. I don't remember the cost, but I thought they were reasonable.

I've rebuilt two sets, the first set, I was able to find a local old farm supply/hardware that had the chevron shaped seals, I bought all he had, which just enough for the first set. I couldn't find the same seal the second time so I just bought regular rope packing and stuffed it in. It's had a lot of use and so far, no leaks! The rope packing is available (or was last time I checked) at some NAPA's, Tractor Supply, etc

This is what is supposed to be in there. http://www.alleghenyyork.com/vee.aspIf you have a local Motion Industries, you could find them there. Are you cylinder rods smooth? New packings won't last long if there are deep scratches or gaulding on the rod, There should also be a bronze guide bushing that usually needs replaced when the seals are bad.

I use Martin Fluid Power they have two places in michigan,St. Jo and Troy. The last one I did the cylinders were real pitted so I used W packings instead they seal over each other better an you can get more in the given area.

UPDATE: I found the seals at a hydraulic shop. $10.00 and I'm back in business. Easy fix now that I know where I can pick em up.
