My father just bought a 2300 series disc at an auction, but it needs some new blades.  They called it a 12.5' at the auction...it has 36 blades.  We haven't taken it apart yet, but from what I have read, I believe that it has a 1.5" square shaft.  Can anyone confirm this?  The disc is currently at my dad's place and not available to me right now to go out and measure, but can anyone tell me what the typical diameter of the blades is, including the smaller outside blades?  Who has the best value on new disc blades and bearings?  Osmundson, Wiese, Agco dealer?  Also, I thought the bearings on a 2300 were greasable, but they seem to be sealed.  Were they available both ways?    Thanks in advance.

Dan, disk is a model 2313, which I think indicates 13ft. You are correct; the blades run on a 1-1/2" square tube. The square tube slides over a hexagonal gang bolt, so the bearings have a hexagonal bore. Bearings are available through Agco dealers or from a bearing house; prices were about the same when I checked several years ago. Bearing flanges (mounts) are available from Agco in both greasable and non. I think that the later disks had the greasable bearings. The non-greasable bearings have a plastic insert between the bearings and the flanges, the greasable bearings mount directly in the flanges. Your disk has 8-1/2" blade spacings, and was available with 20" 8 gauge plain blades front and rear, or with 22" 7 gauge blades with cut-out (notched) style on the front, and plain or cut-out on the rear. Out side blades are typically one size smaller. Consider furrow fillers for the rear gangs.
